Ben Winneshiek, a Wisconsin Native-American from Clark County, describes his experience as a T-Corporal in the Army with the 32nd Infantry Division, one of the first divisions to enter battle in the Pacific Theater in World War II.

Benjamin W. Winneshiek (d.1998) was the son of William and Ruth (Red Cloud) Winneshiek. He served during World War II with the 128th Infantry Regiment, 32nd Infantry Division, enlisting out of a mission school at Neillsville, Wisconsin. He married the former Imogene Swallow in 1952 and the couple had eight children, eventually living in rural Black River Falls in 1964.
